AN EMPTY HOUSE TOUR

Thursday, December 4, 2014

it's going to be a while until i get this house organized and situated just the way we like it. not only a while but it's going to take a bit of money too and since we don't plan on going broke to get everything done in one big swoop, it will be a bit. for the most part we have about 75% of everything we own in it's proper place already but a lot is just kind of thrown in because we need to buy more furniture and decor in order to fill a house this big.

before we start, i just want to thank everyone who's been along on this journey and dealt with me when i was having breakdowns and just had to vent. this journey was a long one but we are finally in our new home and i am so excited about having a brand new clean slate to fill with laughter, love, and many more diy projects than i ever dreamed about!

it's a bi-level and was built in 2010. because it's a fairly new home, there isn't a lot to do on it. the carpet is new and beautiful, the kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, and even though the wall color is completely drab and blah it's the easiest fix in the world. overall this was a gem and completely move in ready which we needed for sure.

so without further ado....

welcome! that door is the one we just entered into and as you can see, the left steps go to the main level and the right steps go to the lower level. let's start with the main level first.

when you come up the stairs and go straight you will walk right into the kitchen.

the countertop space are no joke something i dreamed about someday. the door on the far side next to the door leading outside is the pantry. and it's huge you guys. or at least huge to me since our last house had a little baby pantry.

if you keep walking in through the kitchen, to the left you will see the eat in kitchen.

the eat in kitchen open up into the dining room where those two windows on the left are and the dining room joins with the living room space.

this photo of the living room is taken from standing in the dining room. the ceilings are gloriously tall and there a fireplace (!!!!!) and a mantle (my decorating dreams are finally coming true!!!!!!).

this side of the house is three bedrooms are two bathrooms plus the laundry room. the door straight in front is the linen closet and off to the right is addison's room and a guest bedroom. our room is down the hall and to the left.

the first bedroom on the right will be a guest bedroom. the full length windows are gorgeous in this house and were definitely a selling feature.

here's addison's room. it's a square and decent size plus it has a really deep closet which is so nice for all her clothes.

and this is our bedroom!! it's got lots of windows and the door on the left goes out to the same deck the kitchen goes out to...the deck is enormous!

the entry on the left is our walk in closet, the middle door leads out into the hallway and there's a tiny peak at our master bathroom on the right.

here's a tiny peek at the inside. it's large and powerful and has it's own shower stall plus a jacuzzi bathtub on the right side. the door you see is another linen closet and on the far right where there is a little entry way door is a separate room for the toilet! so strange but it's a huge thing in alabama (or at least all the houses we saw).

now to the lower level of the house. when you land at the bottom of the steps, you will see this living space off the the right. this is the room that we are going to put the television and L shaped couch. it will be a good living space and i don't like having a tv in my main room because you miss out on good conversation then.

this is another room that will eventually turn into a guest bedroom.

and this fifth room on the lower level is designated for andrew's office.

plus there is one more full bathroom on the lower level.

if you turn to the right when you come down the steps, the only thing that was there was the door to the garage and a little nook area to hang coats. and frankly i forgot to take a picture of it when it was empty so i'm sure you guys get the idea.

it's crazy to end on a photo of the bathroom so here is another of the kitchen. please excuse the power drill that's practically in your face. this color of the kitchen is the first thing on our to-do list. it doesn't quite work with the vision that we have.

hope you enjoyed the tour! can't wait to share snippets as it comes together!
